There Will Be No Encore

As today is the one year anniversary of the first real post on Sports As Life, I suppose it's kind of fitting that I (Luke) am taking an extended hiatus from Sports As Life. I'm hoping it's not going to be a permanent leave of absence but one never knows. It's taken a lot of energy to keep this thing running on a (mostly) daily basis and I must admit that I'm burned out and really need a break.

In the meantime I've given the keys to Sports As Life to Cooper, Jeff K, Trebor, CH and TH so they can continue to post if they so desire - although there is no expectation on them. So there might still be stuff to read but maybe there won't be - I guess you'll just have to keep coming back and checking.

Congratulations on making it one year, definitely an accomplishment and a good marking point in ones online career. Good luck in your new job working with the university of phoenix online "branch". I always enjoyed reading your posts and passing on the torch is a very nobel thing to do. Way to go! You would've made J. J. Jameson proud.

To the Editor and Chief: Enjoyed you rapier like wit, your sports insight and pointed commentary. All the best in your future endeavours wherever they may take you.

Are you going to kick the bucket? Did you get some kind of job on Mars where they don't yet have the internet? Did you get a position with the feds and therefore are no longer able to write your commie rag?

No? Then I expect you to be back soon after you have caught your breath and rediscover your love of mocking commentary and scathing insights. Do not worry, I shall not let you down, nor will any of the other chuckers who have/are going to write stuff for sportsaslife...plus I just got my desk here at the sportsaslife office just the way I like it so I am not going to leave.

Oh ya, congrats on the whole one year thing, well done.

You better be back by the NHL playoffs or the CFL season...who else is going to mock them if not you? Who I ask, who?
